Industry Resources During the Pandemic
For the 1st time in history, the largest woodworking trade show has been canceled. In case you missed it, IWF 2020 (the International Woodworking Fair) held bi-yearly in Atlanta, GA has succumbed to the COVID-19 pandemic. Originally slated for August 25-28, IWF had more than 955 contracted exhibitors and was the place to see and be seen in the woodworking industry. IWF’s website states:
“As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt our lives and enterprises, IWF 2020 and the Global woodworking industry it serves are not immune to such intrusion. That inescapable reality lies at the heart of the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event.”
So, where does that leave the over 30,000 attendees and exhibitors that counted on IWF for networking, new product knowledge, targeted leads, competitor analysis and education? The good news is the industry has answered the call and there are resources available at your fingertips via the internet. The bad news is the time commitment it takes to research, prospect and break down info is high. It requires a disciplined mind to set aside “Focus Time”, when running your day-to-day may occupy 99% of your brain power.
With this in mind, ACSP has curated some of the best industry resources below. Having a contingency plan to keep you on track will help you from becoming stagnant and may even result in greater efficiencies, growth, and help you with a positive mindset.
The Closet Summit is planned for October, 2020
